New to Millard?
Attention parents! Are you new to Millard? Do you have a new student (or students) who needs to enroll in school? You can enroll your children online to attend Millard Public Schools!
Upon completion of your online enrollment application(s), you will be required to bring all relevant documentation to the Don Stroh Administration Center located at 5606 S. 147 St., Omaha, NE 68137. Documentation for all grade levels will be accepted daily between 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Calling all employees!
It’s almost back-to-school time for Millard employees. The 2010 Fall Workshop website is available for viewing. If you do not have a district-scheduled meeting, you should report to your building. Questions can be directed to your immediate supervisor or the Office of Staff Development at 715-8418.

Join first-ever Millard Walk for Education!
Help our schools by signing up for Millard's first-ever Walk for Education. The Millard Public Schools Foundation and Millard Education Association are hosting a 5K walk / run at Lake Zorinsky on Sat., Aug. 21. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m. at Hut #5 by the boat ramps. Runners start at 8 a.m. Walkers begin at 8:15 a.m. Money raised will fund classroom grants in all the Millard schools. To register, click here for the application form or register online.
District Highlights

Millard high schools named best in nation
Each year, Newsweek Magazine picks the best high schools in the U.S. “based on how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced placement college-level courses and tests." Only six percent make the list including all three Millard high schools. Read more.
Red Cross honors Millard
The American Red Cross Heartland Chapter recently presented two awards to the Millard School District. The 2010 Leaders for Life Award recognized our schools for sponsoring blood drives. The district also was honored for supporting relief efforts in Haiti. Millard schools raised $20,000 to aid earthquake victims. Accepting the awards on behalf of the district were Suzanne Hinman, former principal of Reeder Elementary School, and a member of the student council.

Try some new recipes
Millard kids can cook! Two competitions were held in 2010 for student-chefs from elementary and middle schools. The recipes are contained in two new cookbooks. Learn more.

Millard named best for music education
For the fifth time, the Millard School District has been honored for having one of the nation's top 100 music programs. The American Music Conference announced the 11th annual “Best Communities for Music Education” survey, which acknowledges schools and districts across the U.S. for their commitment to and support of music education in schools. Millard was the only district in Nebraska to make the list. Learn more.

Waiting to hear about a transfer?
