Millard Public Schools: Russell student wins essay contest

Shayla Andersen, an eighth-grader at Russell Middle School, took second place in the second congressional district in an essay contest sponsored by the Nebraska State Treasurer's Office and the Omaha Storm Chasers baseball team.  Almost 680 essays were received in the 10th annual "Why I Want to Go to College" essay contest for middle school students.

Millard Public Schools: First 'Chalk Walk' honors excellent teachers

Millard’s Future Educators Association held a Chalk Walk to recognize excellent teachers and support community service.  The event provided over 500 pounds of food to the Open Door Mission and 2,000 books for the Hope Center.  Read more.

Millard Public Schools: Students put their manners to the test!

Fifth-graders from Bryan Elementary School wore their finest clothes and demonstrated their best manners in a recent trip to Gorat’s Steakhouse.  This was the culminating activity after learning about proper table etiquette through a program called Manners in Motion.

Seventh-graders from North Middle School created a colorful mural mounted to the side of an old train car in front of one of the City Sprouts community gardens near 40th and Hamilton.  Over 20 students participated in the service learning project.  See more.
